Police arrest suspect believed to have sold Joslin Smith

A suspect has allegedly confessed to selling missing Joslin Smith to an African woman for nearly R20 000.

JOSLIN SMITH SOLD?

IOL reported on Tuesday, 5 March that police have arrested a suspect who is believed to have sold six-year-old Joslin Smith.

The publication adds that the suspect who was taken into police custody was close to Joslin.

A trusted source told the publication that the suspect had allegedly confessed to selling the young girl to an African woman for about R20 000.

“He was arrested. He said he sold her to an African woman,” the source said.

Police were not available for comment and couldn’t verify R20 000 at the time of publishing this article.

SEARCH CONTINUES FOR MISSING CHILD

eNCA reports that there’s still no sign of missing six-year-old Saldanha Bay girl, Joslin Smith, who went missing over two weeks ago.

Smith’s father, Jose Emke wanted police to question the mother of his child and her boyfriend again, as he believes they’re hiding something.

Police say that at this stage, both the mother and her boyfriend are not at the centre of their investigation.

Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie has announced that a R100 000 reward to anyone with information regarding her whereabouts.

Anyone with information on Joslin Smith’s whereabouts is urged to contact the investigating officer, Sergeant Millstine, of Vredenburg FCS at 079 879 8588 or Crime Stop at 08600 10111, alternatively Missing Children SA at 072 647 7464.
