This victory signifies MVG’s first title since he won the same event in 2023.
The Dutch champion, currently going through a marriage separation, was visibly touched as his daughter joined him on stage to celebrate.
Zoe even helped lift the shining trophy while her father chatted with Littler before they posed for pictures.
Van Gerwen earned £80,000 for his success and expressed, “We all know the hurdles I’ve faced these past several months.
“Winning in front of my home crowd is extraordinarily significant to me.
“I played outstanding darts that boosted my energy and resolve.
“Things have transformed for me. Zoe said, ‘Daddy, I want to come with you this weekend.’ I answered, ‘Of course, you can join me.’
“That’s my new reality; sometimes adjustments are essential. My children are amazing, and I envision a bright future ahead. It gives me goosebumps.

In a rematch of January’s World Championships final, MVG capitalized on a slightly off-form Littler, winning five of the last six legs.
Littler faced jeers from the home crowd but engaged in light-hearted banter before the Dutchman took control.
The Nuke, who earned £40k, remarked, “I told Michael right there, he’s playing some of his best darts. He’s had a tough time, but it’s heartening to see him back.
“If he maintains this level of performance, we’re in for some thrilling matchups ahead.
“It was an incredible tournament, but the fans were cheering for Michael. He was exceptional this weekend.”
