The opening ceremony of DELF 2025 featured an impressive lineup of guests, including Paul Chan, Financial Secretary, Lillian Cheong, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Yang Jian, Director of Youth Affairs of LOCPG, Simon Chan, Chairman of Cyberport, and Dr. Rocky Cheng, CEO of Cyberport.

The forum’s first day marked a milestone with Cyberport and Lenovo Hong Kong signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to bolster the support for the growth of Hong Kong startups, enhance the AI ecosystem locally, and drive digital transformation across different sectors. The partnership focuses on startup incubation, commercialization, joint promotion of AI innovations in culture, tourism, manufacturing, and retail, as well as training programs in AI, cybersecurity, EdTech, and more, aimed at strengthening Hong Kong’s workforce and nurturing the innovation and technology landscape.

Distinguished Speaker Line-up Provides Essential Insights

Across the three days, DELF 2025 showcases over 70 distinguished speakers, including representatives from the Intellectual Property Department and the Spatial Data Office of the Development Bureau, executives from global tech giants like NVIDIA, Tencent Games, and Meta, along with academic experts from the University of Southern California and Japan’s Polygon Pictures. This artwork, representing landmarks from Hong Kong’s Southern District—such as Cyberport 5, Ocean Park, and Tai Pak Floating Restaurant—embodies the creative spirit of “Smart Hong Kong” and the goal of an inclusive society, fusing the visions of countless young minds into a unified depiction of the city’s future.

Exciting Weekend Programs Ahead

Alongside today’s impressive drone show by OWOWWW, a Cyberport incubatee, and the AI short film presentation by the Korean boy band XODIAC, a plethora of thrilling activities are lined up for the next two days. Highlights feature the HKITDA Art-Tech Concert, Re:VISS AI Film Fest 2025 and Awards Ceremony, the Dark Horse Indie Game Awards & Conference, and the Silver Age Esports Tournament & Experience Day, among others. The MCL Cinema at Cyberport will also screen the world’s first AI-generated feature film, “Pirate Queen: Zheng Yi Sao,” along with various other AI short films.

Participants will have the chance to engage in more than 25 immersive workshops, exploring themes such as escape room design, AI-driven music creation, and sensory interaction game development. Workshops include the “Xiaohongshu Virtual Influencer Creation Workshop,” “DIY Murder Mystery Game Using Generative AI,” and the “Vtuber Experiential Workshop,” each offering hands-on experiences with the practical uses of emerging technologies.
