Peter Mokaba Stadium to Host Nedbank Cup Final

The upcoming Nedbank Cup final for this season is set to occur at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, according to reports from Sportswire.

It is scheduled for 10 May, with official confirmation of the venue expected to be announced on Sunday by the event organizers in collaboration with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

Originally, the DHL Stadium in Cape Town was the front-runner as a possible location, but that is no longer the case.

Insiders suggest that the World Cup venue in Polokwane will now host the final.

The official announcement will follow the completion of the last semi-final match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Stadium.

Earlier today, Orlando Pirates clinched their place in the final by edging out Marumo Gallants at Orlando Stadium with a solitary goal from Kabelo Dlamini.

The defending champions, led by José Riveiro, have claimed the tournament title twice in the previous two seasons, overcoming Sekhukhune United and Mamelodi Sundowns.

The last occasion the Nedbank Cup final was hosted at the Peter Mokaba Stadium was during the 2015/16 season when Orlando Pirates fell 3-2 to SuperSport United.

No players from that Pirates squad that faced SuperSport are part of the current lineup.
