Why Is Isack Hadjar Not Racing for Red Bull at the Italian Grand Prix?
FORMULA ONE returns to one of its most iconic racetracks this weekend at Monza, but the grid will notably lack one of its regular stars in Italy.
The Italian Grand Prix has seen countless memorable moments throughout the history of F1.
Mercedes arrives in Monza atop both the constructors’ and drivers’ championships, thanks to Kimi Antonelli, although their lead has shrunk in recent races.
This slip in performance is largely due to Lando Norris, who claimed victories in both Hungary and the Netherlands, marking McLaren’s first two triumphs of the 2026 season.
Italy’s Antonelli will be the favorite this weekend as he takes on his home race for the second time, having finished ninth in his debut last year.
Nevertheless, the 20-year-old will also contend with fierce competition from Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, both of whom are determined to secure another legendary victory for the Tifosi this weekend.

Why is Isack Hadjar not racing for Red Bull at the Italian Grand Prix?
Isack Hadjar is absent from the Italian Grand Prix due to a wrist fracture he sustained during F1’s summer break.
The 21-year-old missed the Dutch GP two weeks ago for the same reason, and medical staff have yet to clear him for racing.
Red Bull remains hopeful that he will be ready to participate in the sport’s first race in Madrid since 1981 next week, although this has yet to be confirmed.
The injury happened during training when Hadjar fractured his wrist after hitting a sand-filled heavy bag.
The Frenchman is known to be an avid boxer, using the sport to stay fit for racing with Red Bull.
Liam Lawson has been called up once again from Racing Bulls, joining Max Verstappen in place of Hadjar.
Yuki Tsunoda has also been given another chance at the Racing Bulls, making a brief comeback to the F1 paddock after finishing 12th in Zandvoort last time out.
