Premier League Club Makes Surprise Transfer Just Days After Window Closes Due to Obscure FIFA Regulation
COVENTRY has announced the signing of Yann Gboho just THREE DAYS after the transfer window closed.
The Sky Blues have acquired the winger from Toulouse, marking one of the more surprising transfers of the summer.
The surprising aspect of this transfer is its timing, as the window had been closed for several days.
At 25, Gboho has signed a five-year contract with Coventry and could potentially make his debut against Manchester City today.
The club was able to finalize the deal 72 hours after the deadline due to a lesser-known regulation.
As reported by the Daily Mail, the agreement was made before the 11pm cut-off on September 1.

The transfer was held up as FIFA ensured that all necessary documents were duly submitted.
FIFA eventually approved the transfer, conditional upon the granting of his UK Visa.
Gboho’s transfer fee is reported to be £10.8 million, bringing Coventry’s total summer expenditure to over £100 million.
He is related to Paris Saint-Germain and France star Desire Doue.

Gboho had an impressive stint at Toulouse, scoring 19 goals and providing 12 assists.
His addition will be a major boost for Lampard and Coventry, who have yet to score in the Premier League this season.

Lampard will be eager for Gboho to make an immediate impact against Manchester City at the Etihad.
