Hyatt Announces Development of Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls: The Kingdom

Hyatt (www.Hyatt.com) has announced that the Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls The Kingdom is set to open its doors in late 2027, following a management partnership between a Hyatt affiliate and Albwardy Investments LLC.

Located in Zimbabwe’s Victoria Falls, famed for its breathtaking waterfall, this hotel will be the second Hyatt-branded location in the nation.

Initially opened in 1966 and updated in 1999, the hotel will undergo a major renovation and design transformation to reflect the Grand Hyatt brand, crafting a captivating destination that emphasizes both iconic experiences and intimate moments through exceptional attention to detail.

World of Hyatt members and guests will have the opportunity to explore yet another remarkable leisure travel destination.

When it officially opens as Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls The Kingdom, World of Hyatt members will be able to earn and redeem their rewards.

Set in the core of Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site also known as Mosi-oa-Tunya, or “The Smoke That Thunders,” the upcoming Grand Hyatt Victoria Falls The Kingdom will serve as a distinctive gateway to one of the world’s most renowned destinations.

The hotel’s strategic location will place guests in a vibrant tourist area, just a short five-minute walk to the Victoria Falls rainforest and in proximity to regional safari routes, guided tours, restaurants, and cultural experiences.

“We are delighted to collaborate with Albwardy Investments to introduce the Grand Hyatt brand in Victoria Falls,” expressed Ludwig Bouldoukian, Regional Vice President, Development, Middle East and Africa, Hyatt.

“The exceptional setting near the Victoria Falls rainforest makes this property truly remarkable.”

“This agreement represents a significant milestone in Hyatt’s continued growth throughout Africa, highlighting our commitment to expanding our brand in this area and providing World of Hyatt members with more travel opportunities in inspiring locations.”

Ali Albwardy, Chairman of Albwardy Investments, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Hyatt to bring the Grand Hyatt brand to Victoria Falls.

“With over 60 years of legacy as one of the most recognized hospitality landmarks in the region, this property offers great heritage and potential in Zimbabwe.”

“Through its transformation into the Grand Hyatt brand, set to reopen in late 2027, we aspire to create a refined hospitality experience that embodies the culture, vibrancy, and significance of Victoria Falls, reinforcing our commitment to the hospitality sector in Africa.”

The upgraded property is expected to feature 245 elegantly designed guestrooms alongside a wide array of amenities, including 1,800 sqm (19,375 sq ft) of meeting and event space, three dining venues, a spa, a fitness center, and an upscale lobby lounge.

Guests can anticipate a variety of culinary, recreational, and wellness experiences, all complemented by attentive service that enhances the overall guest experience.

As the closest hotel to the entrance of Victoria Falls National Park on the Zimbabwean side, the property is ideally situated near major attractions.

Moreover, it is just a 20-minute drive from Victoria Falls International Airport, making it suitable for leisure, events, and business travelers alike.
