Sibisi Delivers Uplifting Message to Skeptics Following MTN8 Victory
Orlando Pirates’ skipper Nkosinathi Sibisi made a powerful remark to skeptics after their MTN8 victory on Saturday, asserting that the team’s talented players would deliver wins regardless of the obstacles encountered.
In spite of the departure of ex-coach Jose Riveiro and a rocky start under new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Pirates defied expectations to secure their fourth consecutive MTN8 title.
“We acknowledged our capabilities and put them into action,” Sibisi noted.
“Our experience in Spain showcased our talents, and even though the league kicked off on a challenging note, we held onto our confidence, knowing we possess quality players who will bring home the trophy no matter the barriers.”
Sibisi’s remarks followed an impressive journey to the final, where the Pirates defeated Polokwane City in the quarterfinals, triumphed over Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinals, and emerged victorious against Stellenbosch in the final.

This victory represents a major milestone for the Buccaneers, and Sibisi is hopeful about their quest for additional trophies.
“We absolutely have the right to pursue every title,” Sibisi emphasized.
“Given the strength of our squad, I am confident that we will aim for the club to secure more trophies. It’s all about resilience and waiting to see what the future brings.”
The Buccaneers are now turning their attention to their upcoming match against Lioli from Lesotho on Saturday at Free State Stadium in the first leg of the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Riding the wave of their MTN8 success, the Pirates are determined to make a statement in the Champions League, a tournament where they reached the semifinals last season.
