Premier League Club’s Top Executive Accused of Sexual Assault ‘Should Have Been Arrested’

An important figure in the Premier League, currently facing allegations of sexual assault, allegedly should have been apprehended, according to a police head.

The individual went to a police station willingly for questioning after the allegations came to light, based on the documents retrieved.

However, he was not detained, and no search warrant was requested for his home.

An internal police review has been launched concerning one allegation of minor rape.

Documents obtained by The Athletic indicate that the detective superintendent believed the decision not to arrest him was a “missed opportunity.”

The report stated: “He (the suspect) was invited in for questioning, but I think they should have arrested him and searched his property for evidence to support the investigation, especially since the victim fears she may have been recorded.

This did not occur, marking a missed opportunity.”

The individual has denied all accusations, and no charges have been pressed against him. He remains unnamed due to legal limitations.

He has been scrutinized by two police departments across several years concerning historical complaints from women.

No further action has been announced by the authorities regarding any of these cases.

The FA commenced an independent investigation last November to assess “the potential risk this individual may, or does, pose to children and/or vulnerable adults within affiliated football.”

The governing body has the right to enforce an interim suspension order if needed during the completion of a comprehensive risk assessment.

The individual continues to fulfill his professional duties without disruption.

The police department tasked with the allegations emphasized that they approached the matter “with utmost seriousness,” asserting that their officers “conducted a thorough and comprehensive investigation.”
