Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels Assists Matriculant in Tackling Financial Obstacles
Johannesburg – For many students, the matric year symbolizes the culmination of years filled with effort, dedication, and dreams for a brighter future.
Njabulo Muthanti, a gifted and hardworking student at Prestige College in Hammanskraal, faced not only academic challenges in her final year but also a financial hurdle that threatened her aspirations.
Following her mother’s job loss, the family struggled to pay the R41,000 registration fee required for Njabulo to sit for her Cambridge matric finals—a barrier that could jeopardize her education and goals for university next year.
Despite the tough circumstances at home, Njabulo remained steadfast in her studies, determined to create a better future for herself and her family.
Her teachers recognized her exceptional commitment, integrity, and tireless work ethic, and they organized a fundraiser in her honor.
As the registration deadline of September 13 approached, additional support became crucial.
“As her teachers at Prestige College Hammanskraal, we can personally attest to her dedication and character,” said Helé and Liaan Lategan.
“She displays remarkable resilience and continues to work hard toward her goals.
“We believe she deserves the opportunity to prove herself at this pivotal point in her education, and with support, her future can be transformed.”
Upon hearing about Njabulo’s inspiring journey, Jacaranda FM’s Good Morning Angels stepped in to help.
The Fund provided R50,000, covering the R41,000 needed for her exam registration and offering additional support for school-related expenses during this crucial period.
“Education is among the most powerful tools a young person can possess to change their life,” stated Martin Bester, host of Jacaranda FM’s flagship breakfast show, ‘Breakfast With Martin Bester’.
“Good Morning Angels is proud to assist a hardworking and dedicated young woman like Njabulo.
“It would be a tragedy for her dreams to fade away due to financial obstacles outside her control.
“We are pleased to provide the funding she needs to sit for her final matric exams and continue her journey towards success.
“Her dedication, resilience, and determination to succeed are truly inspiring, and we are honored to be part of helping her realize her dreams.”
Njabulo is set to take her AS examinations at the end of September.
Without this support, she wouldn’t have been able to register, risking her chance to obtain her matric qualification and pursue university studies next year.
Njabulo’s story is a powerful reminder of the challenges that numerous students encounter when financial difficulties threaten their education.
With the support of her teachers, friends, and organizations like Good Morning Angels, she can continue her studies and take a significant step toward a brighter future.
