Isak is reportedly carrying a price tag of £150million from Newcastle, aiming to gain maximum returns in a difficult summer transfer market.
Carragher shared his thoughts on The Overlap Fan Debate, presented by Sky Bet, expressing his concerns about the potential transfer.
Carragher stated: “As a Liverpool supporter, I wouldn’t want the club to invest £150million in Isak.”
“It feels strange for Liverpool to spend £80million on one striker and then contemplate another for a similar or larger sum as a backup…”
“Something about it doesn’t seem right to me.”
Carragher’s concerns arise from Liverpool’s significant expenditure on a forward this window, having signed Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for £79m last month.
He suggested that the pursuit of Isak might be an impulsive reaction to his availability after he indicated his desire to leave.
Carragher added: “I observe Isak and he has previously shown his discontent.”

“It seems somewhat chaotic to me. It doesn’t feel like a carefully strategized plan.”
“I would be surprised if their strategy includes spending £80million on one striker and then looking at another for £120million.”
Alexander Isak arrives at Newcastle training for treatment amid Liverpool transfer interest
“While I would be excited for Liverpool to secure him, £150million seems a price point suited for a player of Mbappe’s caliber.”
Despite the significant addition of Hugo Ekitike, the potential transfer of Darwin Nunez to Al Hilal opens up space for another forward at Anfield.
The Uruguayan is anticipated to join the Saudi league for approximately £46m.
