Johannesburg Yumbs is paving the way for 2025 with the upcoming release of Yummy’s House Vol. 1, a beautifully crafted, proudly South African project set to drop on 11 April.

At the heart of this EP is the emotionally resonant lead single, Awuboni – a collaboration featuring Scotts Maphuma alongside an impressive vocal lineup that includes Nia Pearl, Zani, and Makhanj. This project serves as a heartfelt tribute to soulful Amapiano, infused with elements of nostalgic house music and genuine local flair.

Designed with purpose, Yummy’s House Vol. 1 captures the raw sounds of South Africa’s musical scene, showcasing everything from traditional instruments to lyrics in multiple languages.

Embodying his “private-school Amapiano” roots, Yumbs creates a soundscape that blends smoothness with vitality, while inviting a range of musical talents such as Russell Zuma, Langa Mavuso, Mashudu, and Sfarzo Rtee to enrich his artistic vision.

Scotts Maphuma plays a crucial role throughout the project, enhancing Yumbs’ signature style with added depth and texture.

Topping the lineup is Awuboni, a soulful anthem that weaves in Maskandi influences, amplifying its emotional impact.

With heartfelt lyrics, the track addresses the pain of loving someone resistant to change, as the protagonist navigates a partner’s enduring flaws amidst friendly warnings that time is running short.

Nia Pearl, Mashudu, Zani, and Makhanj bring this story to life, crafting a moment that feels both personal and widely relatable.

The EP follows the positive reception of Amaphupho, which received an early spotlight on YouTube’s popular Piano Pulse podcast, hailed as one of the week’s best new tracks upon its release—a clear indication that Yumbs is in top form as he gears up for this launch.

Building on this momentum, Yumbs continues to foster community through his signature event series, Yumborghini Club: Last Sundays at La Familia Street Culture.

The recent edition, held on 30 March 2025, gathered industry colleagues for an unforgettable day of music, connection, and culture.

This event also served as the backdrop for his live mix that premiered just a day before the EP’s release.

Fans enjoyed exclusive visuals from the day, which lit up social media feeds and blogs as the countdown to Yummy’s House Vol. 1 began.

With Yummy’s House Vol. 1, Yumbs invites listeners into an immersive musical journey that feels like home.

This remix set the stage for 2024, where Yumbs produced the official Amapiano remix of Muni Long’s single “Made For Me.”
