Nedbank Cup Semi-Finals: Special Train Services for Fans Heading to Loftus and Soweto

Johannesburg – The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) has revealed special train services for the upcoming Nedbank Cup semi-final matches.

With aspirations of lifting the trophy, the four competing teams: Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, and Marumo Gallants will clash for a place in the final on Sunday, (13 April 2025).

In the semi-finals, Mamelodi Sundowns will face off against Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, while Orlando Pirates will compete against Marumo Gallants at Orlando Stadium.

In announcing the special train service, PRASA stated: “We are thrilled to offer convenient, stress-free Metrorail train services for soccer enthusiasts to reach their favorite matches.”

PRASA will operate a dedicated train service to transport fans to the Mamelodi Sundowns vs. Kaizer Chiefs match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium from the following routes: Piennarspoort, De Wildt, and Mabopane to Pretoria Station, then onto Loftus Station.

A shuttle train service will run every 30 minutes from Pretoria Station to Loftus Station and back from 15:30 to 20:50.

Additionally, PRASA will provide a train service for the Orlando Pirates vs. Marumo Gallants match at Orlando Stadium in Soweto.

This service will connect fans from Park Station, Naledi, New Canada, and Midway Station to Orlando Stadium.

Fans will be able to safely walk along the fan walk to the stadium afterwards.

Supporters are encouraged to purchase their special train tickets in advance for R20 at any PRASA train station.

For the security and safety of attendees, PRASA has increased security personnel across all trains and stations significantly.

Extra security officers will be positioned at key locations, collaborating with law enforcement to ensure that match-goers have a safe travel experience.

Fans are encouraged to utilize PRASA’s services to avoid traffic and parking issues, allowing for a more seamless and secure travel experience.
