Watch: Six Suspects Killed in Tshwane Shootout During Cash-In-Transit Heist

On Monday, six suspects involved in a cash-in-transit (CIT) robbery were shot and killed during a tense police shootout in Laudium, Tshwane.

As per the statement from police spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo, law enforcement officials engaged in a shootout with the suspects, resulting in the deaths of six individuals.

“During the confrontation in Laudium, six suspects were fatally injured, and police seized unlicensed firearms and ammunition,” Masondo reported.

The site of the incident is still active, and further information is expected to be released as the investigation proceeds.

KZN Shootout Results in Five Additional Deaths

This recent CIT-related incident follows another encounter less than a day prior, where five suspected robbers were killed in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) during a separate police intervention.

In Lindelani, Ntuzuma, police confronted a group believed to be plotting a business robbery in KwaMashu. According to police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda, the officers were acting on intelligence when they stumbled upon a violent disagreement among the suspects.

“The suspects’ two vehicles were stationed at the intersection of Mdubu and Melusi streets, and it appears that a dispute arose among them, which escalated into gunfire. When police arrived, the suspects directed their weapons toward them, prompting police to respond.”

Four individuals were killed on the scene, while a fifth was found nearby with fatal injuries. Authorities recovered three firearms from the location.
