Musa Khawula makes a bold demand in his ongoing murder case

Controversial blogger and gossipmonger Musa Khawula is making headlines against the backdrop of his recent court appearance.

MUSA KHAWULA REQUESTS A ZULU INTERPRETER FOR HIS MURDER CASE

According to reports, Musa Khawula’s case was postponed in the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 2 September, after he demanded a Zulu interpreter.

The murder-accused blogger has reportedly requested a Zulu interpreter to assist him during his murder case, which is before the court.

His request has since seen the case being postponed yet again.

Musa Khawula’s case has been remanded to Tuesday, 1 October 2024, for judicial confirmation and to secure a Zulu interpreter.

However, he was arrested at the Verdenburg Magistrate’s Court on 9 July during one of his court appearances.

It has since been confirmed that Musa Khawula is serving a sentence for not appearing in court in Gauteng.

However, little is known about the court case he missed out on. The National Prosecuting Authority has since confirmed that his current sentence will end on 6 September 2024.

NPA Western Cape spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said, “The case of Musa Khawula was on a roll at Vredenburg magistrate’s court and has been remanded to October 1 for judicial confirmation and [to secure] isiZulu interpreter.

“His current sentence finishes on September 6 2024.”

Many were more than convinced that he should have made the request earlier during his first court sitting.

MAKING HEADLINES

Last month, the controversial blogger trended online after it was alleged that he was dead.

The news of Musa Khawula’s death hoax first made rounds on X, formerly Twitter, after popular user @mandisi.tshinga’s post claimed that the controversial blogger was dead.

The popular X user posted, “Rest in peace, Musa Khawula. Your life was a captivating spectacle filled with drama and controversy that kept everyone talking.

“Even if it wasn’t always for the right reasons. You had a unique talent for stirring the pot and making headlines.”

However, against the news, Correctional Services Spokesperson Singabakho Nxumalo confirmed that Musa Khawula was alive but behind bars.

Speaking to the media, Nxumalo said, “Musa Khawula is alive and well in our correctional facility. He is still serving his 60 days sentence.”

COULD THIS BE THE REASON WHY HE IS BEHIND BARS?

Little is known about the court case that led to his arrest. However, the rumour mill has it that Musa Khawula’s arrest is reportedly linked to his court woes with Fikile Mbalula’s wife.

Musa Khawula once took to X to allege that Nozuko Mbalula and Michelle Perrow paid a bribe to secure government tenders worth R150 million.

However, earlier this year, in May, Fikile Mbalula shared some court documents that revealed that Khawula was ordered to pay damages to the applicants.

The ANC secretary general also revealed that Musa Khawula was ordered to delete the defamatory statements on his X account, which has over 125 000 followers.
