Yes, Kaizer Chiefs are interested in my player!

Kaizer Chiefs are set to be busy in the transfer window, as they approach the next season, according to reports.

Chiefs are yet to announce their new coach, but are still pressing ahead with their transfer plans as they should.

Chiefs pressing ahead with recruitment

There have been a plethora of names linked to the club, with Chiefs expected to make moves for some. There have been links to players from both the DStv Premiership, the African continent, as well as Europe. As they finalise their coaching decision, they will also be expected to finalise their list of targets.

No matter what decisions Chiefs make, they will now know they cannot afford to cut corners. This season they finished 10th under caretaker coach Cavin Johnson. That translates to their worst season in history. That is why they’re rumoured to be pressing as hard as they can to bring Nasreddine Nabi to the team. They then will also understand they have to sign players who’s quality can match his standards.

One player that was recently linked to Chiefs is Mfundo Thikazi. The Royal AM attacker could be on his way to Naturena, as reported by this publication earlier on Thursday. A potential stumbling is that the Durban-based side have a pending FIFA ban review. The speedy winger’s agent has since confirmed Amakhosi’s interest.

Agent confirms Thikazi interest

“Yes, they inquired about him (Thikazi) from last season but then Royal AM gave him a new contract which runs until June 2026. But yes, there has been interest and an inquiry from Chiefs,” said the player’s agent, Thabang Mncwabe to Soccer-Laduma.

Chiefs already have a plethora of wide players, including Ashley du Preez, Pule Mmodi, Christian Saile, Tebogo Potsane and Mduduzi Shabalala. It remains to be seen if they will end up making a move for Thikazi. If they do, will there be players that need to be sacrificed?
