Lynn Forbes breaks silence after AKA’s murder suspects revealed

Lynn Forbes, the mother of the late AKA — real name Kiernan Jarryd Forbes has recently spoken out about her son for the first time since the news of his murder suspects being arrested broke.

AKA was gunned down outside Wish restaurant in Florida Road in Durban on 10 February last year. He died alongside his friend, celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.

Recently, the police revealed that seven suspects linked to the duo’s murder case were arrested and are in police custody. Two of which still need to be extradited from Eswatwini.

The other five who are currently behind bars at Westville Correctional Centre.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, 7 March, Lynn Forbes shared that although it is difficult at times, she has been trying to pick up the pieces and continue living her life because that’s what AKA would have wanted.

“I know that the best way for me to honour you is to live my life. That is what you would want. I’m trying,” Lynn wrote.

THE RAPPER’S MOTHER CONTINUES TO MOURN

Lynn Forbes has opened communication with fans who wish to communicate with her. While some may not want to bombard her with reminders of her son, Lynn assured that all the lovely messages give her strength to carry on.

“Your messages are always welcome. They don’t traumatise me. I cherish every message, even the ones I never get to see. I appreciate your love and support, it gives me strength when I need it most,” Lynn shared.

Five of the seven murder suspects will be back in court soon for their bail application. EWNreported that National Prosecuting Authority Spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson Kara said, “The dates for the bail application are as follows: 14, 18, 19 and 27 March 2024.”
