Morning Live viewers were left worried — and horrified — on Tuesday 21 June after dancer Janette Manrara accidentally kicked a dog in the head.
The former Strictly star and her husband Aljaž Škorjanec, who is also a former Strictly star, had joined BBC’s Sam Quek and Gethin Jones for the programme’s daily workout segment when the incident happened.
DANCER KICKS DOG LIVE ON AIR
As the show came to a close, the couple decided to end the show off by performing one of their signature spins, completely unaware that Dolly the dog was wandering towards them.
A few seconds into their routine, Janette’s foot hit Dolly’s head, with someone in studio shouting: “Oh my god”.
The accident, which happened live on air, circulated on social media within minutes even though the camera cut away as quickly as possible.

VIEWERS WORRIED ABOUT DOLLY
Social media was abuzz after the incident, as Morning Live fans expressed concern for Dolly the labrador.
“#MorningLive that irritating dancer just kicked the dopey vets dog in the head. Some one had too much caffeine this morning,” one viewer wrote.
“Ermmm I swear the dog on #MorningLive just held a boot to the face. Poor thing,” someone else tweeted.
Another tweep wrote: “Somebody needs to check on the dog I think it’s dead #MorningLive”
DOLLY IS OKAY
Luckily for dog lovers, Dolly was pronounced okay by a BBC sound supervisor who was in the gallery during filming.
“No dogs were harmed during that programme! Dolly was absolutely fine after some treats!”
According to the Daily Mail, Dr James, who regularly appears on Morning Live also posted: “Thank you – yea she is totally fine! Getting stuck into a chew stick on the way home!”
